Western Lighting Ideas
Western homes have a palette that reflects the colors found in nature. Here you’ll find earth-tones combined with sunset reds and oranges, sky blue, and cactus green. This design style includes natural cowhide, nailhead trim, wildlife motifs, horse and cowboy art as well as antlers and horns. Southwestern interior design is characterized by rich textures, earth-tone colors as the main palette that are balanced with bright hues of turquoise, clay red, yellow and orange. The objects are handcrafted, and terra cotta and clay are predominant. Fabrics include leather, suede and animal hides.
Southwestern lighting reflects this aesthetic and includes rough-textures and southwest detailing that provide a touch of the desert. Native American symbols and tribal influences may be woven into the mix as well as wrought iron and geometric print on lamp bases and shades.
